This covered dish was originally used to store cheese. It was made by Adams and Bromley that between 1873-1886. Illustrated advertisements in the <em>Pottery Gazette</em> are the primary source of information regarding the firm’s majolica production. Adams and Bromley were noted for using corn and wheat in their designs. This cheese dome with the basket weave and corn decoration is certainly striking.
