Boot Scrape in Slate

American, possibly Pennsylvania

19th Century

Wrought Iron and Slate

It is unusual to see a boot scrape mounted in slate. This is a particularly fine example with a very decorative wrought iron scraper.

WHY WE LOVE IT: Boots might have been made for walking but before you walk all over anyone, please scrape off the mud. It is highly unusual to find boot scrapes in slate.
