Paul Evans Faceted Cabinet

By Paul Evans for Directional Furniture PE400 Series
Circa 1970
Burl wood, fiberglass, metal base.
52″ W; 32″ H; 24″ D

This Faceted Cabinet was part of Paul Evans Cityscape collection that was released in 1970. This sleek line was fashioned originally in brass and chrome and subsequent lines, including this example used burl wood for the faceted surfaces. The piece survives in wonderful original condition with excellent surface with the original fiberglass top.

Provenance: From the estate of Robert Lone, New York.

WHY WE LOVE IT: It is rare to find Paul Evans using this much wood in his furniture.  It adds a warmth to an otherwise very edgy mid-century piece.
