Ruins and Lock on the C & O Canal

By Loran Norris

Oil on Canvas

Dated 1941

24 1/2″ H x 21 1/2″ W

Beautiful autumnal scene along the C&O canal of a stone loch house, reportedly near Great Falls, Maryland, amongst the fall leaves along a stone bank leading up to the water. Viewed from a side angle, the painting gives the perspective you are on the water.

Inscribed “Old Lock House, C & O Canal Near Great Falls on the Maryland Side”.
