It is quit unusual to have a female artist paint a sporting scene in 1898. We have little known information on the artist, however, it is clear she is extremely talented. Ella Barbour paints a scene of a fly fishing rod with four trout. The trout are freshly caught with her fly pole in the background. The overall scene created, is a charming example of late 19th century folk art.
WHY WE LOVE IT: Why am I stuck in the shop, when the Shenandoah is only a few minutes away!
