Normally I do not purchase a lot of English furniture, but I fell in love with this piece when I discovered it in Virginia. The incredibly thick one-board oak top along with the delicate turnings and robust stretchers make a wonderful example of a William and Mary altar table.
WHY WE LOVE IT: Look at the thickness on the top of this table. The English have always been known to be cheap with their wood, but altar tables seem to be the exception.
